World Usability Day on November 12

If you are in the Twin Cities area, I would like to share this special announcement about World Usability Day at the University of Minnesota, on November 12.
The University of Minnesota will host its tenth annual World Usability Day at the Saint Paul Student Center Theater on Nov. 12 from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. This global event aims to unite communities around the premise that the services and products important to life should be easier to access and simpler to use.

The theme for 2015 is innovation, and the day’s agenda centers on the many ways that innovation can enhance the human experience. Panels and presentations will highlight innovation in usability and user experience. Scheduled break times will offer the opportunity for conversation and networking.

Discussion topics will include:
  • Is innovation just a buzzword for novelty?
  • How do you teach/train/credential/measure innovation?
  • Planning a Space for Innovation: how do we make an environment conducive to this thinking?
  • Design Thinking
  • Innovation in Usability; Combating Bias and Artificiality, Gaining Actionable Value
This is a free event to all members of the University community.
